Thomas “TJ” Johnson has more than 25 years of experience in cybersecurity and technology and has extensive compliance related expertise working with various frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF, HIPAA, PCI, FFIEC, GLBA, ISO27001, CIS, SOC, SEC, ITAR, SP800-171, FedRAMP, and CMMC. During his career, TJ has worked with clients in many areas of cybersecurity leadership that include vendor management, disaster recovery, business continuity, cloud security, data protection, security products, budgeting, legal, insurance and risk management. These clients span many industries and include medical centers, commercial banks, hedge funds, brokerage firms and DoD manufacturers.
TJ is an Adjunct Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology where he teaches in the Cybersecurity Masters Program. He also maintains various advisory positions with ISACA where his 10-year tenure with the organization was instrumental in developing the CISA, CISM and CRISC examinations and question pools.

He has more than 20 years of experience in program and project management in the compliance, information security, privacy, healthcare, and legal sectors. Derrick’s work experience includes business line and service offering development, program and project management executive communications, strategic and tactical planning, training course development, requirements definition and management for top information technology and health care consulting firms. Derrick is currently focused on enablement and adoption of the Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity suite for clients.
Prior to joining BDO, Derrick worked at a software development and a global consulting firm focused on providing information security program planning and development for the U.S. federal government and healthcare industry.

James (Jim) Amsler is a director for BDO's Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) practice, where he leads the Privacy Technology group. Well-versed in data protection and privacy regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), he helps ensure that clients identify and implement the appropriate technical controls to protect the personal data they process. He has over 25 years of professional experience helping clients meet regulatory and compliance obligations. In addition to leading privacy and client engagements, James is also a recognized leader and speaker within the Privacy and Information Governance disciplines themselves, having spoken on a variety of topics related to privacy, information governance, data discovery, information lifecycle management, and Infonomics at conferences and industry events. Jim has also conducted IAPP certification courses preparing thousands of technology and privacy professionals for key industry certifications.
Under his leadership, the BDO Privacy Technology team assists clients with website, cookie, AdTech, and cross-platform consent requirements, implementing Privacy considerations in SDLC processes, privacy code reviews, and selecting, implementing, and integrating privacy-enhancing technologies.
