Here's what we talked about

  • What does it mean to be composable?
    • Breaking down monolithic architectures into smaller, interchangeable components
    • Reusability of components or content blocks across different sites/applications
    • Greater flexibility and agility for innovation
    • API-first, can integrate with anything
    • Can be headless, progressively decoupled, or even fully coupled frontend (low-code/no-code)
  • Platform-focused strategy
    • What does good platform architecture look like?
    • Efficiency, speed to market, scalability, and security benefits
    • Incorporating a design system
    • Balancing flexibility and governance
    • How to generate excitement and improve adoption at your organization
  • Omnichannel Experiences
    • Drupal's API-first approach means content isn't trapped in a silo
    • Can be shared across multiple sites, multiple experiences - full-stack Drupal, headless web apps, native mobile apps, and more.
    • Increase the value of content by ensuring it reaches more viewers
  • Taking advantage of AI
    • Deliver personalized experiences tailored to user preferences or behavior
    • Leverage data-driven insights to drive business goals and growth (e.g., ELC, trends analysis)
    • Enable AI-assisted content migration and creation, generating titles, abstracts, tags, etc.
    • Empower site builders and editorial users with easier tools to create and extend sites (e.g., Drupal Agent Chatbot, Barcelona Driesnote)

John Picozzi LinkedIn

Solution Architect at EPAM

My official role is Solutions Architect at EPAM working from home in Rhode Island. My unofficial role at any organization I work for is resident Drupal fanatic; I believe strongly in contributing to the Drupal community and supporting open source in any way I can. I’m the organizer of the Drupal Providence Meetup, an Acquia-certified Site Builder, a co-host on Talking Drupal, and a co-organizer of the New England Drupal Camp. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Web Management and Internet Commerce, as well as an associate’s degree in Web Development from Johnson & Wales University. Throughout my career I have crafted Drupal solutions for organizations like CVS Caremark, Leica Geosystems, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Marriott International, Rhode Island School of Design, and Novartis. When I’m not immersed in the world of Drupal, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, drinking craft beer, cooking, and eating!
