Are You Managing Your Data or Is It Managing You?

VIP Dinner Event - San Fran, CA

Dec 5, 2023 6:00 PM8:30 PM PST

Event Description

We have all heard about the growth of data. We all have a portion of this growth that impacts us. How big is the challenge? Data continues to grow and is now expected to reach 1 YOTTABYTE (1,000,000,000,000 TB) of data created in 2030 alone! This is compounded by the fact that 32% of data is leveraged in a meaningful way while 68% is not.

Join us as we discuss how the unfettered and increasing growth rate of data is impacting organization of all sizes, across all verticals and how you can take specific, actionable steps to understand and manage the growth of data in your organization.

BWG Connect and GDT invite you to join us for an interactive discussion over drinks and dinner with your peers! We'll explore the latest trends in the space and get your questions answered.

As always, there will be no sales pitches and dinner is free.

There is Limited Seating Available and RSVP is Required!

Discussion Topics

  • Data growth has several effects that must be accounted for that impact all organizations.
  • Cost. Properly matching your workloads to their performance and priority requirements is a foundation for rationalizing cost and forecasting. This is particularly true for cloud-based storage where more than customers are reporting that storage in the cloud is surpassing 25% of their overall cloud costs and is increasing at a faster rate than their overall cloud cost growth.
  • Operations. Growing data impacts data protection, recovery, complexity, and risk. This is exacerbated in a hybrid/multicloud environment.
  • Security. Data is the primary artifact for every cyber security attack, breach, ransomware, or malware attack. Protecting your data in all locations and being able to recover to a known RPO/RTO is essential.
  • Sustainability. With growth comes an increase in carbon footprint. There are strategies to improve ESG scores.
  • GRC. Properly classifying, tagging, and managing data via policy and procedure is a foundation for addressing many of the other dynamics that unfettered data growth brings.
